No. 2 Indiana Pacers white guy: Troy Murphy
2. Troy Murphy, F/C, 2006-2010 (Notre Dame)
Murphy was one of the most versatile Pacers in recent years. He averaged 14.3 points and 11.8 rebounds in 2008-09 and 14.6 points and 10.2 rebounds the next year. He could drive to the basket and was especially dangerous as a trail post behind the 3-point line. Occasionally, he would unleash an impressive dunk. He has since played for the New Jersey Nets, Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Lakers, never averaging more than 3.6 points per game. The video is of a game-winning tip he made against the Lakers.
Would rank Murphy and Detlef (Remember him?) both over Foster
Schrempf was gone before Bird became team president, as was Brad Miller, another person who has been mentioned.
C’mon I like Troy Murphy too because he’s a local guy. But to say he hepled the Celtics beat the Knicks by playing 3 minutes of garbage time is ridiculous. Terrible reporting.
