A look at new Indiana Pacers point guard D.J. Augustin

I had been wondering what kind of player the Pacers were getting with Darryl Gerard (D.J.) Augustin, so of course, I hit up YouTube. I found a video worth sharing on limweiqiang’s channel (who, of course, credits the NBA). Highlights will only show the best of a player, so it’s hard to get a true idea of what he will bring. Sorry, no dunks and not a lot of flash here. From what I see, he’s lightning quick, he passes first and he’s tough. Critics say he actually passes too much and defenses sag because they don’t expect him to shoot, the same way they used to sag off of Darren Collison two years ago. George Hill told me Augustin is extremely quick and the Pacers got a steal. One key: coach Vogel told me Augustin came here because he wants to win. Players like that tend to be open to coaching, so if Vogel can get Augustin to confidently take open shots, the Pacers might have something here.
