FISHERS, Ind. — Entering Friday’s game against Noblesville, Hamilton Southeastern running back Ryan Ripp had already posted some pretty impressive numbers, so containing the powerful HSE running game would be a tall task for the young Noblesville defense.

It proved to be too much. Ripp ran for 141 yards and two scores to lead HSE to a 31-14 win.

HSE took control of the game quickly, with a strong opening drive capped by a Ripp 1-yard run to put the Royals up by 7. After forcing a 3-and-out, HSE added to their lead with a 36-yard field goal to end the first quarter of play.

In the second quarter, HSE continued to move the ball well. The Royals’ first possession took over 7 minutes off the clock ending with Ripp again putting 6 on the board with a short 1 yard run.

The Millers offensive struggled throughout the entire first half really never making a serious run into HSE territory.

With less than 2 minutes in the half, Southeastern added to their lead when senior quarterback Ross Risley fired a 54 yard strike to Cameron Polk. The Royals went to the locker room with a commanding 24-0 lead.

The second half didn’t start a whole lot better for the Millers again going 3 and out in their first possession. Noblesville got their first break when Zach Reitzug mishandled the punt return, fumbling on the Miller 36 yard line. Noblesville was able to capitalize on the turnover with a keeper by T.C. McKiernan to put the Millers on the board for the only score in the 3rd quarter.

Noblesville scored again to start the 4th quarter of play when McKiernan completed a 31 yard touchdown pass to Cody Sullivan to pull the Millers within 10.  The Royals scored again after recovered an attempted onside kick from Noblesville.  Ripp punched it in from the  one for his third touchdown of the night making the final score 31-14.
