Indiana Fever to host viewing party, WNBA Finals rally

INDIANAPOLIS – In celebration of its historic run into the 2012 WNBA Finals, the Indiana Fever will conduct a viewing party and Finals rally with fans this week in Indianapolis.
The Fever currently leads the best-of-five-game WNBA Finals series 1-0, with a 76-70 road victory over defending champion Minnesota last Sunday. Game 2 in Minneapolis is Wednesday evening (8:00 p.m., ESPN, 1070 The Fan). The series shifts to Indiana with Game 3 on Friday, Oct. 19 (8:00 p.m.). If necessary, Game 4 will also be played at Bankers Life Fieldhouse on Sunday, Oct. 21 (8:00 p.m.). All fans attending Game 3 are encouraged to wear RED to Friday’s game.
Fever fans can gather in Castleton to watch Game 2 on Wednesday evening, by joining a Fever viewing party at the Ale Emporium (8617 Allisonville Road) beginning at 7:30 p.m. Tipoff is at 8.
On Thursday, just 24 hours before the WNBA Finals return to Indy for the first time since an equally historic playoff run in 2009, fans can join a Fever playoff rally at Circle Center Mall Food Court from Noon to 1:00 p.m. Fans will be greeted by Freddy Fever, with cheer cards, music, prizes and fun highlighting the event.
In the midst of its eighth consecutive playoff appearance and its ninth overall, Indiana has advanced to the WNBA Finals for the second time in four years. Its 2009 Finals series against the Phoenix Mercury went all the way to Game 5 and has been regarded as the highest-rated in league history, including a pair of sellout crowds at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.
