Fever can clinch WNBA title with Game 4 win over Lynx

The Fever are almost there.

Indiana is one win away from an unlikely WNBA championship.

Even with No. 2 scorer Katie Douglas out with a severely sprained left ankle and backup guard Jeanette Pohlen out for the series with a torn ACL in her left knee, the Fever have a chance to clinch their first title. The city hasn’t won a professional basketball championship since the Pacers won the ABA championship in 1973.

Tamika Catchings, who has done everything but win a title, is trying to keep things in perspective as the reality that her long-awaited title might come to her at age 33. She is in line to be the series MVP, though Erlana Larkins might steal it from her with another 15-rebound effort.

Minnesota will not go quietly. The defending champs boast three Olympians in Seimone Augustus, Lindsay Whalen and Maya Moore. The Lynx were embarrassed after a 76-59 loss on Friday and will be out to avenge that loss and take the series back to Minnesota for Game 5.

Here is my Associated Press preview of the game.
