Nebraska’s Martinez, Indiana’s Latimer share Big Ten offensive honor

Nebraska’s Taylor Martinez and Indiana’s Cody Latimer have been named co-Big Ten players of the week. Their teams could face off in the Big Ten title game in Indianapolis.
Here are highlights of what they did last week:
Cody Latimer, Indiana
So., WR, Dayton, Ohio/Jefferson Township
– Set or matched career highs in catches, yards and receiving touchdowns to help Indiana to a 24-21 victory over Iowa on Saturday
– Accounted for all three Hoosier touchdowns, hauling in three scoring passes, which is tied for the second most in a single game in program history
– Caught seven passes for 113 yards, including receptions of six, 15 and 30 yards that resulted in scores, the latter being the game winner
– Claims his first Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week honor

Included at the end of this highlight is Latimer’s third touchdown reception against Iowa.
Taylor Martinez, Nebraska
Jr., QB, Corona, Calif./Centennial
– Guided the Huskers on two fourth-quarter scoring drives, erasing a 10-point deficit in the final frame for a 28-24 victory over Michigan State on Saturday
– Ran for 205 yards, the seventh 200-yard rushing performance in the Big Ten this season, and touchdown runs of 35 and 71 yards
– Passed for 160 yards, resulting in 365 yards of total offense, and two touchdowns, including the game winner with six seconds remaining
– Wins his fifth career Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week award and fourth this season, tied for second most in a single season in conference history
