Colts QB Andrew Luck is AFC Offensive Player of the Week

The NFL today announced that Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck has been named the AFC Offensive Player of the Week for Week 9. This marks the first time Luck has earned the award in his career.
Luck completed 30-of-48 passes for 433 yards and two touchdowns for a 105.6 quarterback rating in the Colts’ 23-20 victory over the Miami Dolphins on Sunday. His 433 yards set a new NFL single-game record for passing yards by a rookie quarterback and mark the third-highest single-game total in franchise history. Luck also became the second rookie in NFL history to record four 300-yard passing games (Peyton Manning, 1998).
Luck set career-highs in passing yards (433) and attempts (48), tied a career-high in touchdown passes (two) and recorded his second-highest total in completions (30) and quarterback rating (105.6).
For the season, Luck has completed 190-of-336 passes for 2,404 yards, 10 touchdowns and eight interceptions for a passer rating of 79.0. His 2,404 passing yards mark the most ever thrown by a rookie quarterback in NFL history through the first eight games of a season. Luck leads all AFC quarterbacks with 148 rushing yards and three touchdowns. With one more rushing touchdown, he would tie Bert Jones (1974) and Peyton Manning (2001 and 2006) for the Colts single-season record.
