Butler loses at LaSalle, but Bulldogs will be fine
LaSalle’s Ramon Galloway scored the go-ahead layup with 2.7 seconds left, then Roosevelt Jones, the hero Saturday against Gonzaga, missed from halfcourt at the buzzer as the Explorers beat the No. 9 Bulldogs 54-53.
Andrew Smith had 16 points and eight rebounds, Kellen Dunham scored 15 points and Jones had 14 points and five assists.
This is nothing to worry about for Butler. It’s one conference loss, and it came on the road without leading scorer, Rotnei Clarke. Plus, the Bulldogs earned a bit of leeway with huge wins over Indiana and Gonzaga.
