The remainder of the Boilermakers season now rests in the selection committee’s hands. On Saturday afternoon Purdue was unable to knock off the No. 6 ranked Wisconsin Badgers to clinch a spot in the Big Ten Tournament Championship Game.

Purdue led by five at halftime, but the Badgers were nearly unstoppable in the second half en route to a 71-51 victory.

A.J. Hammons scored 10 points to lead the Boilermakers, but it was far from enough to keep up with the Badgers. Bronson Koenig scored a career-high 19 points, Sam Dekker and Nigel Hayes each scored 15 and Big Ten Player of the Year Frank Kaminsky scored 12.

With the loss, the Boilermakers finish the season 21-12. All signs from Bracketologists around the country show that the Boilermakers are securely in the NCAA Tournament. With a very bad stretch in December, but an amazing turnaround in the Big Ten season, the Boilermakers will likely land a spot within the 7-11 seed range.

Tomorrow night at 6 p.m., the 68-team field will be revealed.
