Finally, Tamika Catchings has her title.
Catchings scored 25 points, and the Indiana Fever beat the Minnesota Lynx 87-78 on Sunday night to win the WNBA championship.
Catchings had done everything else in her career — she’s been a gold medalist, NCAA champion, WNBA MVP, five-time defensive player of the year – but this had eluded her.
Finally, with a lot of help from Erin Phillips, Briann January, Shavonte Zellous, Erlana Larkins and unexpected contribitions from Karima Christmas, the Fever got it for her. Now, she’s a WNBA champ and a Finals MVP.
